Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information PC Remote Controller (the Android app, the Windows app and this website) handles, why, and what you can do about it. The short version: the apps talk only to each other on your own Wi-Fi, they contain no ads, analytics or tracking, and you never need an account.

1. Who is responsible

PC Remote Controller is made by Dimitrios Chloros, an independent developer, who is responsible for the information described here. You can reach him through the contact form.

2. The apps

The Android app and the Windows app connect directly to each other over your local Wi-Fi network. Your mouse movements, key presses and commands travel only between your phone or tablet and your PC. They are never sent to the developer or to anyone else.

• Connection details: to find and reach your PC, the apps use local network addresses and the connection code shown on your PC. These stay on your devices and are used only to connect.
• Settings: your preferences, such as pointer speed or theme, are saved on your own device and nowhere else.
• Update check: to tell you when a new version is available, both apps download a small public file from GitHub (raw.githubusercontent.com). The apps send nothing about you with this request, but like any website, GitHub receives your IP address when the file is downloaded. GitHub's own privacy statement covers that.
• Notifications: on Android, the app asks to show a notification so it can stay connected while running in the background. It does not read your other notifications.

The apps are downloaded from Google Play and the Microsoft Store. Those stores handle downloads, ratings and reviews under their own privacy policies.

3. This website

The website uses no cookies, no analytics and no tracking, and its fonts are served from the site itself. It is hosted on GitHub Pages, which may record visitors' IP addresses for security purposes, as described in GitHub's privacy statement.

• Contact form: if you send a message, your first and last name, email address and message are collected and used only to reply to you. They are never used for marketing or shared.
• Update emails: if you subscribe, your email address is used only to send news about new versions, features and important announcements, and only with your consent.

Both forms are delivered through Formspree, a service that may store submissions on servers outside your country. Formspree's privacy policy explains how it handles them.

4. How long information is kept

The apps keep nothing about you beyond the settings on your own devices. Contact messages are kept only as long as needed to answer them. Your subscription email is kept until you unsubscribe.

5. Your rights

You can ask to see, correct or delete any information you have sent through the website, or unsubscribe from update emails at any time. Just use the contact form and it will be done. If you live in the European Union, you also have the right to complain to your data protection authority.

6. Security

Because the apps work on your local network and store nothing remotely, there is no database of users that could be breached. The connection between the apps is as secure as your Wi-Fi, so use a network you trust and keep it protected with a password.

7. Children

The apps and website do not knowingly collect information from children, and the apps collect no personal information from anyone.

8. Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new date.
